Influences

As a child I mainly listened to Kraftwerk’s Computer World album, Laurie Anderson’s album Big Science and at age 12 Michael Jackson (Bad) and the Pet Shop Boys (Very).
In my youth from 1993 I was thrilled by the emerging music television (Viva Housefrau/Berlin House, MTV Partyzone) and music shows on the radio (Steve Mason’s Experience on BFBS, Raum und Zeit with Klaus Fiehe on WDR Einslive, and Evosonic Radio). I discovered Techno, House, Trance, Jungle (Drum and Bass) and Chillout (Ambient) and listened to music from the charts with a lot of Euro Dance and Hip Hop.
I discovered Electro/Electrofunk in 1996 through the VHS video mixtape X-Mix Electro Boogie (! K7) by Dave Clarke. The combination of the 3D computer animations with the funky beats and the futuristic mood laid the foundation for my audiovisual, epic multimedia performance ELEKTRO BODY FORCE.

During this time I also discovered electronic dance music and experimental electronics in the Cologne record stores Delirium (later Kompakt), Groove Attack and a-Musik and started to produce own electronic dance music and rap on the computer.
I studied historical and systematic musicology after graduation, then had one year of piano and singing lessons and sang in choir for two years. During my studies in the early 2000s, I experimented a lot with music software, my voice and video and I learned about media art, club culture and the history of electronic music.
